Our #Winslow Model Home in #LimerickPoint is now finally finished and ready for private appointments! Yesterday we completed the second part of the project video for this home with the @GCB_Interiors team and our General Manager, @akbarimahmood.

Acorn commissioned GCB Interior Architecture, a traditionally high-rise focused design firm to create the vision for this spectacular community.  The goal was to create a design standard that does not exist in this submarket, with distinct features parallel to this unique community.

The design team’s approach to the interior furnishings and finishes was to connect the architectural language with the interior.  In the use of natural oak wood in the flooring, stairs, doors, and custom millwork, the furnishing selections were able to hold their own with purpose and not be the dominating element in each of the rooms.  Including the roller shade window treatments that almost look invisible yet functional and seamlessly connects with the large contemporary windows.  What this achieved was a neutral palette whereby the purchaser can see their own style inserted or realize that contemporary living in a submarket does not have to be extreme, cold, or unattainable.  Appointments of classic materials like marble, wood, glass, metal are the anchoring elements expected and has held value throughout time.

The benefit of retaining a design firm is their capability of creating special features that have a sense of belonging with purpose yet distinct and personal.  Successful features like the kitchen, TV/fireplace wall, custom closets, and vanities begin with understanding their function and how scale & proportion in their respective placements complete the value.  The kitchen hidden elements of the built-in appliances allowed the kitchen and the dramatic stone to become the statement piece of the home.  The placement of the furniture in the family room work in unison with the fireplace and TV so that the living function if fully experience and enjoyed.  Walk-ins, wardrobe closets, and bathroom vanities custom made to fit the room with multi-functions enhances your daily rituals.  With all of that said, effortlessly appointed accessories like barware, lush textiles, memorabilia, and art truly balances and connects the diverse demographic with the communities goal and the environment it is situated in.
